I learned how to form different types of past tenses such as simple past, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. I learned that for past simple we have to use \"ed\" for regular verbs and for irregular verbs, we just have to memorize them. I learned that for the past simple we need the time give , a definite time in the past.I learned some activate teaching ideas for this tense such as card games or discussing past holidays.I learned how to form past continuous using was/were + the ing form. I learned that the past continuous can be used for an interrupted past actions or a gradual development that took place in the past. The activate teaching ideas could be detective games or use of dairies. In addition, I learned about the form and usage of past perfect as well as activate stage teaching ideas such as story telling/writing in conjunction with other past tenses. Another activate stage for the past perfect is that the students see a story and then retell the story backwards. Further I learned the form and usages of past perfect continuous. We form past perfect continuous by had+ been+ ing form. This unit also taught me about the common students errors and how to help them avoid those errors.
