Unit 20 talks about how teachers can establish rapport with their students along with how to address certain situations that may occur in the classroom. As all teachers are aware, once they have finished their training, they will begin teaching their own classes. Some of those classes will be brand new with brand new students, others will be existing classes that had started previously. I like how this unit FOCUSED on ensuring that the teachers establish rapport with their students by getting to know them before engaging them in rigorous English studies. I have used the toss the ball game a lot in my classes, and hangman or a song have proven successful in exciting the students. This unit was also good to address the fact that students will progress at different levels, and that it is the teacher's responsibility to ensure that all the students are being helped, and to know when to move on. I also liked the suggestions given on ways to work with a large classroom. The most students I have ever taught in a classroom setting was around 30-50, and it is hard to engage everyone and have everyone participate. That is why I liked the suggestions of doing worksheets, pair work, group oral practice, and so on for activities.
