This lesson has provided a variety of methodologies that teachers can and ought to use in the classroom. Theories about how language is acquired are many, but all agree that students should continuously be engrossed in and studying the language. Students must be made to want to learn a language first by being engaged and interested while using the language with other people. After they have been reached by engagement, students must be exposed to study time in order to discover new vocabulary, usage, and grammar points in a language, hopefully in a way that elicits their previous knowledge as well as find opportunities for self discovery. The last part of a lesson must include activation, allowing the students a block of time to freely and openly communicate using mediums such as games or debates that draw upon lots of student talking time. Of course, all lessons cannot be uniform, and may choose to utilize different strategies like peppering in activation activities directly after engagement and then resorting to study time. Corrections are necessary, but should largely be made in the study stage with the students having an opportunity to self-correct and hace their classmates correct them before the teacher jumps in.
