Unit 8 presents an extensive overview of the future tenses.The future tense is used to different tenses and ideas can be used with future meanings. So it is very important to understand the future tenses and also know how to use them correctly. This unit presents me with the opportunity to study and know more about the seven most frequently/commonly used forms which are; the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive, the present simple and the present continuous. It is worth noting that the 5th and 7th forms mentioned above are the most commonly used in our daily usage of the English language. It is also important to take tell events yet to happen or events expected to happen in the future. The future tense is the most complex areas in the study of the English language because so many note that tenses 6 and 7 are usually/normally used as present tenses but with future applications. This unit has equally exposed me to the most common type of mistakes and errors that students normally make when using the future tenses. It has also provided me with some great teaching ideas on how to approach and teach the future tenses for better student comprehension.
