Despite what I have so far accomplished as a teacher and the progress that I have helped my many students make, I still feel that my current teaching approach can use more direction and scientific structuring, which is exactly why I found this particular unit to be extremely helpful. I don?t often do much beyond steeping myself in the topic when it comes to my classroom lessons. That?s not to say, of course, that I do not show up to each and every class well-prepared and well beforehand to check every component of my teaching arsenal and greet the students as they arrive. But in the classroom, I prefer to allow more autonomy to the multiple students present and watch as they thrive on one another?s energy and contribute to the session the liveliness and the input it needs. Lesson planning is, therefore, a greater concern in my private teaching where individual students require more encouragement and more personalized guidance in order to enrich each session and their own individual learning experience. For purposes of structure and added effectiveness, I will be sure to implement much of the instructions and guidelines offered in this unit, especially the lesson plan layout and the self-evaluation form.
