This unit covered the future tenses, which in total are seven. There is the simple future, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, the simple present, the \"going to future,\" and finally the present continuous. The simple future (I will join you) is used for predictions without evidence, for spontaneous plans as well as more distant, not yet planned out plans in the future. The future continuous (I will be reading a a book tomorrow) is used to express an event that will be in progress in the future. The future perfect (I will have bought groceries by 6pm) is used when an action has taken place before a certain time in the future. The future perfect continuous (I will have been working here for 6 years by 2018) is used to express how long one has been doing something until a certain time in the future. The simple present (I go to work tomorrow) is used for timetables and schedules. The \"going to\" future is used for predictions with evidence (It is going to be sunny tomorrow), and for already planned out activities in the future (even before one has said them aloud) (I am going to travel next year). Lastly, the present continuous (I am leaving tomorrow) is used to express definite plans.
