The content of this unit explains how to properly manage and handle the classroom environment, in order to create a positive experience for the teacher and students. It explains how to address students (eye contact, gestures, teacher talk time) and how to engage students based on their strengths and weaknesses. For instance, students can be placed in group, pair or individual activities. Each student will respond to it differently based on their character, for example if Student A is shy they will most likely appeal to individual work. The unit also taught me ways of building rapport with students, responding to negative behaviour and turning the classroom into a positive workspace.
