This chapter went back to exploring the grammar of tenses, specifically the past tense and its aspects. It highlighted the four main aspects of the Simple, Continuous, Perfect and Perfect Continuous and its varying usages and common errors. Once again I found this chapter useful and am thankful for the solid examples of each type of tense it gives along with the explanations of how the grammar effects semantic understanding of events that happened in the past. Because most students find the English past tense to be especially difficult given the various irregular past-tense forms I feel that it is especially crucial to be able to support them through this type of grammatical undertaking.
