This unit explains that speaking and writing are the productive areas of teaching English. Areas that need to be addressed are accuracy, fluency, spelling and prononciation. Things to be aware of are the differences in the ways of writing in the countries where the students come from and the very many different ways of pronouncing sounds and spelling words that appear in the English launguage as well as in different English speaking countries. I have learnt that I need to concentrate on accuracy in the study phase and fluency in the activate phase. That I need to have my students interested in the activity especially when concentrating on writing where accuracy and spelling is important.
