Today, I was given a brief introductory lesson on how to effectively teach English as a second language.By reading unit one, I was able to become more knowledgeable about how learning styles change with age. For example, small children have short attention spans, and enjoy singing and playing games while learning, while adults have longer attention spans, and are more motivated to learn. One of the details in the unit discussed culture differences in the classroom between the teacher and students. I feel it is important to know about cultural differences when going to a new country in order to avoid offending anyone, so that was helpful to know.
