This unit talks about different past tenses. It gives an overview of the past simple, the past continuous, the past perfect, and the past perfect continuous. We learn that the past simple is used when talking about actions completed at a specific point in the past. The past continuous tense talks about past actions interrupted by other past actions or about actions that gradually happen. The past perfect tense talks about a past action completed before another past action. Finally, the past perfect continuous tense is used when talking about an action that was in progress at a specific time, with no indication that it will continue in the future.
