Teach English in YanjiAng Manzu XiAng - Heihe Shi
In this unit, we learn about modals, passive and active voice, phrasal verbs. There are many modals, and each has their own specific uses, for example: 'may' can be used for polite requests, formal permission, and less than 50%. While the modal 'must' is used for need or necessity, prohibition, and 95% assumption or certainty. Passive voice and active voice differ from each other by focus being placed on the agent in the active voice, and focus not on the agent in the passive voice. For example, this sentence is in active voice: 'My wife chose the wallpaper.' This is the same sentence in the passive voice: 'The wallpaper was chosen by my wife.'
