This unit discusses and provides instruction on developing a course from inception to completion. During the developmental stage of the course, as teachers we are encouraged to consider the language level of the students in relation to their age; proper tests and/or assessments (Diagnostic, Placement, Aptitude, Achievement, Proficiency, and Progress) help to determine course planning. The unit also points to the development of the most appropriate syllabus based on the student's needs; a syllabus provides the best outline, in my opinion, in structuring an easy to understand course so that students know what to expect from the course and teacher.
