This unit introduced the subject of teaching new words, grammar structures and language functions. There were lesson examples for each which I found to be helpful. I learnt that it is important not just to explain the meaning, and spelling or pronunciation of a word but also to explain its usage, or it in context, such as in a sentence. Also the differentiation of functions was new to me, and important to focus on functions like suggesting, agreeing, inviting, so using the language such as in interaction with people. It seems to complete learning the words and how to use them i.e. grammar and then how to use them in context such as in interactions.
