This unit was probably the most difficult unit I have come across so far. I assumed that with pronunciation and phonology, it would come easily as a native English speaker, but I found that I had to keep rereading some sections. I was mainly held up on the phonology section and all of the symbols that followed and rules to be applied. I understand the importance of intonation because it helps people to understand the emphasis of the sentence and where to stress the word/syllable. I was happy to see some techniques for teaching intonation and stress. I realize that I need to try and memorize the phonemic symbols because that seems very foreign to me.
