Unit 3 covered how to develop courses for business English classes. The unit began by explaining the steps necessary to prepare for a business English class. The steps that were provided were; giving a level test, executing a needs analysis, and eliciting a needs negotiation discussion. The unit also emphasized the importance of creating a syllabus and listed some of the common types (structural, functional/notional, learner-led, and situational syllabus). The unit concluded by defining the different kinds of tests that should be used throughout a business English class such as; diagnostic, placement, aptitude,achievement, proficiency, and progress.
