This unit was had to do with troubleshooting and common issues that can arise in an ESL classroom. The first lesson should be something enjoyable and used to build rapport as opposed to jumping right into grammar exercises from the book. Warmers help to achieve this and also help to hook students into the lesson for the day. It is especially good if the warmer can lead into a study activity. Different levels and large classes can be dealt with by pairing weaker and stronger students, giving crosswords to students that finish early, etc. Students often have issues with listening tasks and one way to help with this is to pre-teach difficult vocabulary.
