This unit discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using course books when teaching and the things to consider when having to choose one. One of the advantages is that they provide a tried and tested syllabus, on the other hand they may not meet the needs of the students. Teachers should integrate with extra material which can be either created or authentic.In this unit, Unit 20: Troubleshooting, I have learned basic classroom management skills for students at different levels. I have learned how to conduct a first class of an EAL course, and in turn which activities are appropriate and which are less helpful to a group of students. This course has been very helpful in my attempts at learning more about EAL learners.
