The topic of evaluation and testing was covered in Unit 15. Evaluation of students can be done by students, or with tutorials or tests. I learned the slight difference between a diagnostic and a progress test and was reminded of placement tests and practice tests. Several examples of external exams for English learners at different levels were listed and explained.I have learned ideas for approaching vocabulary, grammar, and language function lessons. Seeing more specific fleshed out lesson plans is very helpful, because I teach mostly grammar and patchwork lessons are not very successful with my students if we are trying out unfamiliar activate activities. I also agree that word origin is not important for students to know.
