This unit is focused on the theories , methods and techniques use for effective teaching. Learners of English language who have the opportunity to live in an English speaking environment while studying have a huge advantage of mastering the language more easily. This is due to the fact that , they are surrounded by the language continuously and are able to put acquired knowledge into practice in everyday , realistic situations. Thus , many learners of English language do not have the opportunity to live in an English speaking environment while studying and thus , find it difficult to really master the language . This is because their contact with the language may be just daily, twice weekly or weekly English classes at school or at a private language institution. As a result, these student do not get the same exposure to the language and the opportunity to put it into practice. But to overcome this difficulty , a good teacher will have to follow some rules. The best of these rules is the Engage Study Activate (E S A) method which is a combination of many other methods and techniques of learning . Now , i am of the understanding that effective use of the ESA method by a good teacher will produce best and successful results.
