Teach English in Xunle Miaozu XiAng - Hechi Shi
In this unit of teaching special groups I anticipated different content than what I was met with. It was a chance to give more detail to prior units that touched on older students versus younger students. The special cases refers to the individual student, or the multilingual students, the ages, or the industry specific english needs. I particularly learned more from the sections regarding teaching individual students and business english. The responsibility of the teacher in the business class is to facilitate the learning process in english, and not to educate the employees on how to perform their work. A needs analysis is essential in order for a teacher to determine what future lessons to provide, but the focus is on the company and employees to navigate the teacher through their daily work communication requirements with the english language. It seems that this would be far simpler than for example teaching a teenage group of students required to take english as the school curriculum, however I believe this could be equally challenging because the business students must learn new material in order to complete their daily jobs, and I could only imagine it would be met with considerable more stress by the students.
