In this unit I was taught about different teaching methods and theories, the engage study activate method that it can be used in different structures, and about how to correct students. I learned that there are a lot of different teaching methods to choose from and that they can all be beneficial, but should be used to best meet the students needs and teacher's personality. The engage, study, activate method allows students to get excited about a lesson, then to learn key content, and then they get to apply that knew content while integrating it into what they already know. I really liked that the unit included examples of activities that could be used at each of the stages that will help with my future lesson planning. I also learned the importance of how we give feedback and correction to students. I learned that a mistake is something that happens and then students then try to correct, whereas an error is something more difficult to change because the student does not agree or does not realize it is happening. I also to be careful of when I correct students and what I correct them on. I should try to do it in an encouraging way during study time if possible and specifically about the language they learned in that lesson.
