In this lesson I learned about the materials that are used within a Business English classroom. There are authentic and non-authentic materials that can be used in a classroom. Authentic materials are materials that were made for purposes that have nothing to do with teaching English. These are things that Native English speakers would see, read, or watch in their own lives. Non-authentic materials are materials that were made specifically to teach English to students. Lesson plans are useful for the teacher for multipole reasons. It gives them an idea of what will be accomplished in class and gives them a record of things that they can use in the future. It is good to stick to the plan, but if the students are not up to speed in the way that the teacher anticipated, the teacher can divert from the plan to help the students understand the lesson point. There are multiple kinds of resources that teachers can use to create lesson plans. There are book resources as well as online resources. Thankfully, there are now more book resources than there were in the past. There have always been online resources, but teachers need to be wary of the sites they use just in case students can access the same ones and get all of the answers.
