This primary unit encompassed the general qualities that compose a \"good teacher\" and a \"good learner.\" A good teacher requires characteristics such as kindness, patience, encouragement, approachability, sensitive and constructive feedback, and a passion to teach well. A good learner was described as someone who asks questions, experiments with the language, receives feedback graciously, and is motivated to learn, amongst other things. After this review, the unit reflected on the different roles a teacher could take in the classroom in order to engage, teach and build healthy relationships with students. Examples include manager, prompter, participant, assessor, facilitator, etc. The differences between adult and children learners were explained when it comes to factors such as language awareness, motivation, openness, and attention span. Following this, the potential levels that a teacher could encounter in a classroom were broken down into beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced. The way one approaches teaching will greatly depend on the age and experience of the class, which will determine techniques to engage students. In conclusion, a good teacher makes for good learners.
