Unit 7 focused on things which need to be considered when introducing new language to students. It would be incredibly rare to find a language class in which new language was not being introduced and, for that reason, this unit is very important. If a teacher were to introduce some new pieces of language without first taking the time to prepare, this could cause a serious amount of confusion for the students. By studying this unit some beneficial techniques are explained in detail, including where in the lesson each technique should be used and how to modify each lesson to fit the language abilities of the students. This is therefore, a very useful unit to study as it allows for teachers to begin the thought process on how best to introduce certain language vocabulary, grammatical structures and functions. Again, this unit has been beneficial for me and on reflection I can see that whilst some of my lessons have already followed the patterns outlined in this unit, others did not. I have learnt to first identify which type of language is being introduced in a particular lesson and building my structure to best fit this rather than following a specific \"one-size-fits-all\" structure which would ultimately get stale and repetitive.
