Lesson planning can make lessons rather rigid and stop the teacher being flexible to the needs of students. The writing of lesson has a number of important functions: 1 an aid to planning.2 a working document.3. a record.There is no special way of writing a lesson plan but there are also some basic principles : keep simple and clear .you may need to refer to it during a lesson. Do not try to script the lesson. Structure it and maintain the same structure. Write the time for each activity in the margin. Check for balance of skills. Keep it flexible and open to adaptation. Before you start the lesson, check the lesson plan ,go through with it and make sure you have all the necessary aids and materials needed. Check the equipment works. Arrange the seats as designed. Make sure the board is clean. Be ready to chat with students when they come to the class. A lesson plan should include : Learning objectives, personal aims, language point , teaching aids, anticipate problems, procedure, phrase, timing, interaction, class level, number of student ,date and time, teacher's and observer's name. A good teacher will want to monitor the quality of his lessons. By focusing on each lesson's strength and weakness teachers will be helping themselves develop.
