The content of Unit 6 on Past Tenses was very clear and concise regarding the different past tenses and their usage in the English language depending past actions described. I appreciated the way it was detailed in Unit 6 that the 'past continuous' and 'past perfect continuous' were differentiated according to their form and usage, and how students could easily get confused between the two, and make mistakes while using the 'past perfect continuous' tense by omitting one of the two auxiliary verbs ('had' and 'been') in the structure of their sentence or even fail to add -ing to the main verb form. Example of 'Past Continuous' and ' Past Perfect Continuous' forms which may be confusing for new learners if they forget the auxiliary verb rule for each. 1) 'Past Continuous' = (Subject + Was/ Were + Verb-ing) ---> Only one auxiliary verb and 2) 'Past Perfect Continuous' = (Subject + Had + Been + Verb-ing) ---> Two Auxiliary Verb Furthermore, the 'Typical Student Errors/Mistakes' section in this unit was also very helpful! As for example, I would have never suspected before reading this section, that students may make mistakes with the Past Continuous, by confusing it with the past simple by also omitting the verb 'to be' and the -ing form.
