In this unit the teacher's role in the classroom was clearly defined. In teaching EFL the teacher must interact in a variety of ways with students in order to motivate and stimulate them in their language acquisition. As explained in the unit, the teacher must be an example for proper language usage and pronunciation, a facilitator,a manager and an organizer. To properly achieve this respect and discipline must be established and maintained by employing certain techniques, but never resorting to heavy-handed tactics, such as yelling at students or berating them in any way. Discipline can be achieved by pleasant, respectful interaction within the classroom. Through eye contact, gestures, and clear, concise explanations instructions and language points are best expressed. A variety of group seating arrangements should be used to keep the rhythm of the classroom interesting, varied and motivating. This also allows for student talk time and personal teacher attention in the right degrees. It is evident from the information given in this unit that organization is of paramount importance.
