This unit gave an overview of how to choose and present language items for lesson planning purposes. There are many factors to consider when choosing a vocabulary-based lesson plan, and certain activities or ways of teaching are more effective when learning vocabulary. Similarly, teaching grammatical structures and language functions require a different approach as well. All of these must take into consideration the students, their ages, culture, skill-level, and more. When I formulate my lesson plans, I will need to take into consideration the points laid out by this unit. I will also be able to reference it if I need ideas for each of the engage, study, and activate stages of the lesson.
