I was surprised to learn that English has such a wide variety of different tenses, especially compared to other countries. I think the example was that the Chinese language only has one tense, and I will be teaching Chinese students so I can understand how they can get confused. This unit taught all about the present tenses and how we must take the subject, an auxiliary verb, and something like a verb or past participle to complete the different forms of present tense. Different forms of the present tense include: simple present tense, present perfect, present continuous, and all of their negative forms as well. Again, the variations to the rules were listed and memorization was suggested.
