This unit covers the topic of lesson materials. Materials are divided into two groups: authentic materials which are produced for a purpose other than the classroom, and non-authentic materials which are produced specifically as a teaching aid. There are both advantages and disadvantages in using authentic and non-authentic materials, but we should try to make materials as authentic as we can especially when teaching business English. We should have a lesson plan prepared prior to the lesson, so we can have something to refer to at intervals during the lesson to make sure we have covered all the points we were expecting to. More materials can be sourced from book resources and the internet.
