In this unit i have learnt that course books can be loved or despised by teachers. They can be advantageous because it can be used as a guideline for a syllabus according to the level of the students and if chosen well they can inclued extra material, such as: workbooks for homework, CDs, a teacher's book and other materials. The disadvantages of course books are that they can be very predictable and annoying for the students if you only work from the book each and every lesson. It can also make the teacher lazy and less creative which will discourage motivation in the classroom. The teacher will be more effective and the lesson more stimulating if she/he uses the coursebook as a guideline.
