This lesson dealt with one of the most important aspects of language learning - the receptive skills required to listen and read in the target language. Although this is often considered an easier skill to achieve than productive skills like speaking which require considerably more courage, reading and listening to native speaker-created things is what first introduces new vocabulary and grammar structure to the students. I found the part about selecting texts to the students' level to be particularly important. As input goes, if a student hears 100 words they will only be able to achieve output of one of those heard words so increasing input by giving them lots to listen/read to is crucial.
