This unit discussed the two forms of productive skills, speaking and writing. It stressed the equal importance of accuracy and fluency. The unit reviewed how accuracy focuses more on the proper usage of language structures when speaking and writing. Fluency focuses more on the fluidity of a conversation or interaction between classmates. Knowing the difference of both of these words and ideas I understand how the teaching approach for both is equally important. When a teacher can create an inviting environment for students with activities that elicit proper language usage and a conversational atmosphere, students are more likely to take more away from the lesson and progress in their studies.
