A lot goes into planning a lesson. I have learnt that while there are several theories and methods such as the the silent way, lexical approach and several others there are also other methods that are out there. I have also learnt that the best lesson has to have three stages. These stages are the engage, study and activate stage. There are several ways to achieve all these stages but one should take note of when to make corrections, and when to allow more student talking time. The teacher must have good and effective ways of correcting the student and avoid pointing, but instead signal with an open hand. Feedback should be done at the end of the lesson to ensure that the lesson was effective.
