This unit was difficult but interesting and I have learned a few new things that I have thought about previously. I have learned about some things that come natural to most people can be quite difficult for new learners. An example of that is the usage of the rise and fall intonation. Another example is the stress positions on words in sentences that can have a different meaning depending on which word are stressed. We sometimes forget that students don?t always understand the differences and we assume that they understand what we mean by stressing a certain word in a sentence. I have always felt that using phonemic symbols are difficult but I?m surprised at how easy it actually is.
