In this unit I have learned the importance of encouraging students to practice speaking to each other. Games can be very helpful for making students feel more comfortable, more motivated and to help them to enjoy utilizing new language. Students generally learn better and remember things easier if they are interested and enjoying what they are doing. It seems that a lot of school-centered language classes are very writing heavy. While writing is very important for language, maintaining a balance in trying to get students to read, write, speak and listen seems very important. Writing can often be done at home. But I wonder if in an elective adult class how much homework realistically gets done.
