The unit gives a brief understanding of the nature, roles and responsibilities of a good teacher and a good student. A good teacher should be kind, patient and should be able to motivate the students and build a good rapport with them. A good learner has a desire to learn and experiment a new language, ask questions when they are unsure and learn from their mistakes. Learning experience of an adult varies from that of young learners. While adults have more life experience and are usually motivated to learn, young learners maybe unmotivated to learn and the teacher should motivate them enough by making the class interesting. An enthusiastic, motivated and caring teacher makes successful students.
