Unit 13 tells us about teaching pronunciation and phonology. In this unit, the stress is on how to let students achieve a good understanding of learning how to pronounce individual words and words in sentences. I learned techniques in teaching intonation and stress such as using gestures, humming and singing, using the board, among others. Also, I learned that in teaching students to speak, they have to be familiar with the manner and place of articulation. As a teacher, I have to be aware that there are four major ways (linking, sound dropping, sound changing, and extra lettering) to join sound together which probably would help you become a good speaker of the language, close to the native one.
