This unit was interesting for me as I'm currently teaching in a public junior high school situation. Unfortunately, given the expectations placed on the students, and the fact that my role is more as an assistant than as the main teacher, my school's classes rarely allow for such flexibility or creativity in a typical fifty minute English class. However, I did take away several games and activity ideas from this unit that I hope to use. In particular, Alphabet relay, Sevens, and Sentence prompts could really work in my classes. And despite what I said above, I will try to impliment the ESA format as much as possible into my lessons in the future. It is definitely a sensible order to do things in.
