Unit 18 was very challenging and covered the grammatical topic of modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. Modals are words that can be added to other verbs to modify meaning. This unit included a handy chart that covered all of the modals and the various reasons you should use each one. The section on passive voice was very thorough and again included a chart that covered the various tenses and how to properly use each tense when speaking or writing in the passive voice. Phrasal verbs are very challenging, even for native speakers, but this unit encourages teachers to not be afraid to teach them, and that by understanding the different types of phrasal verbs, the topic can be more easily taught.
