This unit explains motivations and techniques of managing a class and maintaining discipline. It describes the pros and cons of different grouping methods as they relate to classroom management, along with physical organization options and interpersonal strategies. I expect the section on the various ways of grouping students to end up the most useful for me, because I found that portion to be the most insightful. Reading about these makes me think much more about how to properly structure a lesson. Another particularly useful note was the section on responding to problem behavior - because this is not a skill that I have had to exercise much, reading theory about it will surely have been helpful.
