Lesson planning is a useful tool for new and experienced teachers alike. There are many ways to plan lessons. More experienced teachers who are comfortable and flexible with changing plans may only have a brief outline or something similar to give their lessons direction. The more knowledgeable a teacher is of their class and their ability, the easier it is to plan and less structured they can make their lesson plan. New teachers benefit greatly from lesson plans as it provides a planning aid for the class, direction for the lesson, and a record for yourself and future teachers of what you have taught the class. Teachers should not only plan lessons but also create their own feedback surveys so they can see where the lesson fell short of and met the lesson objectives.
