Having had experience of teaching with all these different types of materials, it was gratifying to see the same advantages and disadvantages I've faced listed out so well. Based on personal experience and extrapolating from the unit as whole leads to a \"best outcome\" hypothesis. The best outcome can be achieved by using a combination of all four options- Omit, Adapt, Supplement, and Replace- with the three choices of materials, and then planning a curriculum that uses each, with the teacher's ability, to their fullest potential. Relying on only one kind of material makes classes too predictable (or too unpredictable, even) and it lessens the experience of the classroom overall. There's too much to be gained by any of the materials available to leave anything unused.
