In this unit I learned all about pronunciation and phonology. I learned that's it's important to teach students about both intonation and stress because it has such a major impact on the intended meaning of what someone is saying. Also, the more a student understands and can apply these concepts, the more natural that student's speaking will be. This unit also introducted my to the phonemic alphabet. While I have seen these symbols before, i've never paid much attention to them. Additionally, this unit also discussed the parts of the mouth and the vocal organs and how they're used to effect the pronunciation of diferent sounds. The teaching techniques section, and particularly the video, was very helpful to understand how to actually teach this information to students.
