This unit has been helpful for me to understand how students may approach knowledge outside of the classroom. For me this unit helped with multiple aspects of teaching. I read into a portion of the unit from the perspective of assigning homework. Pre-teaching and review there material for a homework assignment if a GREAT idea when it comes to learning new language. Beyond homework I really enjoyed this unit because it included media and celebrities into the lessons (even if it was a theoretical lesson plan it is practical). Non-native English speakers love learning about American celebrities and American pop culture. Thus being able to bring that into a lesson makes it more engaging. Being able to incorporate videos and language in one can be a fun exercise for students.
