In Unit 6: Past Tenses, I learned about the past tenses of English verbs. These are similar to the present tenses that I learned a few units ago, concerning forms. The same four forms still stand - simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. However, there are many irregular verbs in the past tense, and there is no way to identify these verbs for students, they must simply memorize them. Overall, I learned that past simple form is used for actions completed at a definitive time in the past, past continuous form can be used to describe gradual change or interrupted past actions, past perfect form is the past equivalent of present perfect, and past perfect continuous form is used to talk about past situations that had been going on up to the past moment referenced.
