This Unit explained the two types of skills the students need to work on in the classroom: productive and receptive skills. The receptive skills are listening and reading. Reading can be of several types: Scanning for useful information (searching for weather report on a particular day), Skimming to get a general idea ( skimming an article to understand whether there is a change in the health system and does it mean for a person) and detailed reading (reading the camera manual). When choosing the material for the reading it is important to find something interesting for the students and have a variety each class so all the students are involved. It is important to pre -teach some vocabulary words. As well as choose authentic material that corresponds to the student's level.
