This unit is about lesson planning. Several aspects of lesson planning are discussed and then examples provided. The unit covered the functions of a lesson plan and then what should be included in a plan. In the past I have written plans focused more on the what and less on the why or the objectives. Writing down class objectives and also personal objectives is new to me and an idea I fully support. Targeting a specific language point helps to focus the choice of activities. Another new aspect of lesson planning to me is that of anticipated problems. I have informally used such a thing before, but putting it into a lesson plan is a good idea. Finally the self evaluation form is nice. Students learn by trying and being corrected, so too can teachers learn from their mistakes.
