This unit covered some of the common problem situations and a bit about first lessons and warmers. I learned that although listening skills can be difficult for the students it is important to not abandon that particular skill. I also learned a few activities to build rapport with the students such as a pass the ball game. It is important for the teacher to participate in the games played to build rapport. Also using pair work helps in classes of larger sizes and it is beneficial to pair the strong students with the weaker ones so they can assist in the learning. It is equally important to make sure the strong student does not dominate the work load.
